In light of the Vancouver car attack that took place on April 26th, the Khalsa Diwan Society hosted an Akhand Path (prayer) from May 2nd to May 4th for the victims of the tragedy. In a press release, the Khalsa Diwan Society wished to show support and solidarity between the Vancouver Sikh and Filipino communities.

In addition to the presence of members of the Khalsa Diwan Society such as Jagdeep Sanghera, the Akhand Path was also attended by Mayor Ken Sim, MLAs George Chow, Sunita Dhir and Mable Elmore, as well as representatives from the VPD.

Sikh gurudwaras and community members from across the region have stated that they are ready to provide assistance in any way needed, whether through prayer services, logistical support, or direct aid to those affected.
