At 2 a.m. on July 10, 2025, shots were fired at Kap’s Cafe, a Surrey restaurant owned by Indian actor and comedian Kapil Sharma. A video was released by an individual capturing the shooting from a first person perspective.
No one was present inside the Cafe and no injuries have been reported.
No motive or suspect has been officially identified by the Surrey PD. The Surrey PD are canvassing surveillance footage and asking any witnesses to come forth.
Many are speculating that this incident is connected to various extortion attempts that have been levied at the South Asian business community, particularly in Surrey.
