Blame game on in Punjab over low intensity blasts
After Jalandhar, another low intensity blast had occurred in Khasa area in Amritsar Wednesday, raising questions on the law and order situation in Punjab in India. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Mann, however, stirred a political storm by alleging that the BJP is trying to disturb the peace in the state ahead of assembly elections next year.
The CM alleged that it is the modus-operandi of the BJP to carry out low-intensity blasts in the states where the party tries to gain ground ahead of the elections. Mann also alleged that BJP was trying to create a divide in the communities.
The BJP, however, refuted the CM's allegations. The state party President Sunil Jakhar said that instead of blaming the BJP, the CM should focus on improving the law and order situation in the state.
The Leader of Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa too asked the CM to focus on improving the law and order situation in the state.
