Lake Country RCMP seized multiple firearms, including prohibited weapons, following the execution of a search warrant on May 25.

On May 25, Lake Country RCMP, with the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant in the 12000 block of Shoreline Drive in Lake Country. The warrant was obtained following a report of a firearm being discharged in a Lake Country neighbourhood earlier in May.

The search resulted in the seizure of eight firearms, including prohibited and restricted weapons, as well as ammunition. The residence was unoccupied at the time the warrant was executed; however, the investigation remains ongoing.

“The RCMP appreciate the public’s cooperation in staying out of the area and observing roadblocks, which enabled officers to execute the search warrant safely,” said Staff Sgt. Jon Collins, commander of Lake Country RCMP detachment.
