Voyeurism: Kaur movement to hold protest outside Delta business
The Kaur Movement, a Surrey based NGO will hold a protest outside the business in Delta where the alleged voyeurism incident had happened.
Speaking to Sher-e-Punjab AM 600 Radio, Gurpreet Kaur, who heads the NGO said that she, along with some of the victims will hold a protest at 5 pm, Monday to demand a strict action against the suspect.
Speaking further, she said that in total 23 women approached her and told their horrific tales to her.
"They told me that the suspect had installed a high definition camera in the washroom and was filming the women employees," Kaur added.
In a statement, Delta police said, "Delta Police are investigating a report that a suspected recording
device was being used in a staff washroom at a business in the Tilbury area of Delta. Investigators are working closely with the business to secure evidence, identify anyone who may have been affected, and ensure there is no ongoing risk.
On July 7, an employee of the business was arrested and released on
conditions pending further investigation. At this stage, investigators believe the incident was isolated to this workplace, and there is no information to suggest a broader risk to the public.
These investigations are highly sensitive and involve significant privacy
considerations. To protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those potentially affected, no further details are being released at this time. As recording devices become increasingly small and accessible, Delta Police encourage people to remain alert in locations where privacy is expected. Any suspicious device or activity should be reported to police immediately.
