Charges Approved in Internet Child Exploitation Investigation

Criminal Code charges have been sworn against a man following a Surrey Police Service (SPS) investigation into alleged possession and accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM).

In May 2025, SPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) officers commenced an investigation into reports of a suspect possessing and accessing CSAEM online.

In August 2025, SPS ICE and other Special Investigative Section (SIS) officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Surrey, where evidence was located and seized. During the course of the investigation, investigators located over 14,000 CSAEM images and videos.

On August 4, BC Prosecution Service approved two Criminal Code charges for Wade Bruce Craig, a 37-year-old male, that include possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

Wade Bruce Craig was arrested on August 6, and was released with conditions. His next court appearance is August 27.
