A significant drug trafficking investigation by the Port McNeill RCMP and Island District General Investigation Section (GIS) has resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of substantial quantities of suspected illicit drugs, cash, firearms, contraband tobacco, and vehicles believed to be connected to criminal activity.

During the searches, officers seized more than $100,000 in Canadian currency; approximately one kilogram of suspected cocaine; significant quantities of other suspected controlled substances, including suspected ketamine; additional quantities of suspected illicit drugs pending analysis; two rifles and one shotgun, along with ammunition; more than 100 cartons of illicit and unstamped tobacco products; multiple cellular devices believed to be associated with drug trafficking activity; and two vehicles that investigators will be seeking to forfeit as proceeds and instruments of crime.

Over the course of the investigation, Port McNeill and Island District GIS officers executed multiple search warrants on residences and vehicles in the North Island area. As a result, investigators arrested three individuals believed to be involved in the trafficking of controlled substances in the community.

The investigation remains ongoing as forensic analysis and charge assessments continue.

"This was a significant disruption to suspected drug trafficking activity in the North Island region," said Sgt. Erin Stevenson, Detachment Commander of the Port McNeill RCMP . "The amount of cash, drugs, firearms, and contraband seized during this investigation demonstrates the serious nature of the criminal activity involved. These results reflect the dedication of our officers and their commitment to ensuring the safety of our communities."

As the matter remains under investigation and charges are being assessed, no further details will be released at this time.
