India has summoned Pakistan’s chargé d’affaires to lodge a formal protest over what it described as "unacceptable and unprofessional conduct" by a Pakistani naval vessel, leading to a collision with an Indian warship in the northern Arabian Sea.

According to officials, the incident occurred Tuesday evening when the Pakistani offshore patrol vessel PNS Hunain approached a frontline Indian Navy ship at high speed while operating in international waters. The Pakistani ship executed an unsafe maneuver, causing it to collide with the Indian vessel.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that the collision resulted in heavy damage to the Pakistani ship, while the Indian warship sustained no major damage and continued its routine surveillance mission.

New Delhi called the maneuver a direct violation of Article 10 of the April 1991 bilateral military agreement, which governs advance notifications and safety distances for military operations. Indian diplomats instructed the Pakistani envoy to urge authorities in Islamabad to exercise due caution to prevent future encounters at sea.
