BC RCMP Major Crime Unit is seeking information about the activities of Dayna Monk prior to her death on May 31.

 On May 31,  Fort St. James RCMP attended a residence in the 400-block of Stuart Drive to assist BC Emergency Health Services with a report of a cardiac arrest. Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced deceased.

Based on the information initially available to investigators, criminality was not believed to be a factor in the death. However, following the results of an autopsy, the death was determined to be suspicious.

 On June 10, the BC RCMP Major Crime Unit assumed conduct of the investigation.

 Investigators are now publicly identifying the deceased as 30-year-old Dayna Monk and are asking anyone who may have information about her activities, interactions, or movements prior to her death to contact investigators.

 "Investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding Dayna's death and are asking anyone who may have information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward," says Inspector Robert Kurtz, BC RCMP Major Crime.
