FINTRAC imposes an administrative monetary penalty on Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Limited
FINTRAC announced today that it has imposed an administrative monetary penalty on Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Limited. Following a compliance examination, this provincial credit union headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario, was imposed an administrative monetary penalty of $16,500 on August 10, 2026, for non-compliance with Part 1 of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations.
Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Limited was found to have committed the administrative violation including failure to develop and apply written compliance policies and procedures that are kept up to date, and, in the case of an entity, are approved by a senior officer.
Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Limited has paid the administrative monetary penalty in full and the case is closed.
