International law enforcement operation leads to seizure of websites
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, in partnership with the FBI Washington Field Office and the Cybercrime Division of France’s Parquet de Paris, announced Wednesday the seizure of two websites as part of a coordinated law enforcement action taken against the dissemination of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and the non-consensual publication of intimate images.
According to the seizure warrant, the United States obtained court authorization to seize two domains associated with NudeLeaksTeens (NLT), which advertised for sale leaked (i.e., hacked and stolen), sexually explicit images and videos depicting young women and girls. Law enforcement’s investigation of NLT revealed that despite website warnings against CSAM, the site also offered for sale sexually explicit images and videos of children.
NLT advertised and sold its content in “albums” and “collections.” While the content of albums and collections varied, many included personal identifying information of victims, pictures of victims in various stages of undress, and pictures of victims engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Some of the victims have been identified and confirmed to be minors at the time the visual depictions were created. NLT also advertised a collection named for the website, “Nudeleaksteens Collection,” which it boasted contained “6200 private nude files leaked of teenagers or adults (mostly American) from hacked snapchats, Instagram, tiktok, facebook accounts[.]” This collection also contained CSAM.
French law enforcement simultaneously arrested a 25-year-old man living in Northern France who is suspected to have been the main administrator of NLT.
Theophani K. Stamos, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Darren Cox, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI Washington Field Office; and Charles “Andy” Penn, Arlington County Chief of Police, made the announcement.
The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs provided significant assistance.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys April Russo, Lauren Halper, and Meredith Clement are representing the United States.
