Cockroach Janata Party leaders detained at Jantar Mantar, booked by Delhi Police
Delhi Police have detained Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka alongside other party members after they entered the heavily barricaded Jantar Mantar protest site without permission.
An FIR was registered against the activists for breaching the restricted area. Police sources said the charges also include violating a previously signed peace bond.
The police action came as CJP members bypassed heavy barricading put in place to prevent demonstrations at the venue. Once inside, the activists raised slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Authorities have cited security protocols and safety concerns at the site as investigations continue.
