MP Randhawa claims AAP fears exodus , questions law and order in Punjab
Former Punjab deputy chief minister and Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab may not last long, warning that the state could face President’s Rule in the near future.
Randhawa alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party is gripped by fear of losing power, prompting what he described as a “drama” in calling a special assembly session on Labour Day.
He said the session is being used as a cover by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to potentially conduct a floor test in a bid to save his government. Randhawa further alleged that Mann is aware several of his legislators are in contact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and could switch allegiance at any time.
Randhawa argued that the government should focus less on retaining power and more on safeguarding Punjab, including ensuring strong security arrangements for residents.
Referring to a recent explosion on the Rajpura–Shambhu railway line, he said the incident poses a threat to peace and communal harmony in the state. He also questioned the government’s response after the name of a supporter linked to MP Amritpal Singh was reportedly connected to the blast.
The Punjab government has not yet publicly responded to Randhawa’s allegations.
