Suspect on ATV who failed to stop for police gets arrested and charged

A man has been arrested and held in custody after failing to stop for an attempted traffic stop on the Alaska Highway near Fort Nelson, B.C.

On June 29, just after 11:00 p.m., an officer with the Northern Rockies RCMP was conducting patrols on the Alaska Highway, south of Fort Nelson when a red All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was observed driving on the roadway. As police attempted to intercept it, the ATV failed to stop. While no pursuit was initiated, a detailed description of the driver was noted.

The following morning, on June 30, a Northern Rockies RCMP officer was patrolling in the 3000 block of Muskwa Rd when he observed the suspect, wearing the same clothing, sitting on the red ATV that originally failed to stop for police. The suspect was arrested and held in custody.
