Prime Minister, Mark Carney Monday  announced that by-elections will be held on August 31,  in the  electoral districts including Beaches—East York, Chicoutimi—Le Fjord, North Vancouver—Capilano.

The by-elections are crucial for the ruling Liberal government which is banked on a thin majority. 

Currently, Liberal's have 172 seats, which are required for the majority. The opposition  Conservatives have 139 seats. 

If the results come in favour of the Liberals, it will place the government in more comfortable position.
