Peter Milobar leaves Conservative caucus, to sit independently

Peter Milobar, MLA for Kamloops Centre, left the BC Caucus and will sit as an independent MLA in the assembly. With Peter's exit from the Caucus, the already brewing anger among the Conservatives came out.

In his statement Peter Milobar said, "Since 2017, I have been entrusted by the residents of Kamloops and the area to be their voice in Victoria."

"I completely respect the vote of the membership, and that Kerry-Lynne Findlay has earned the right as leader to shape the party as she sees fit," he added.

Indicating differences with the current party leadership, he said, "It has, however, become clear to me over the last few months that my values don’t align with this new direction."

On his future move, Peter Milobar said, "With that in mind, effective immediately, I will be sitting as an Independent member of the B.C. Legislature."

"What matters most to me hasn’t changed — serving the people of Kamloops Centre. I’ll have more to say about the road ahead in the days to come," he stated.
