At 9:45 a.m. on Friday August 8, Surrey Police (SPS) officers responded to a bank robbery on the 13700-block of George Junction. Witnesses reported that a male suspect entered the bank, approached a customer service representative, and demanded money. The suspect then left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was last seen on foot crossing Whalley Boulevard at Fraser Highway.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set Indigenous man with a short beard and wearing a grey hoodie, white pants, black shoes and sunglasses. A still from the bank’s CCTV footage showing the suspect has been released to the public by the SPS.
