Museum of Surrey Announces Spring Exhibits
Get ready to dig deep beneath the surface at Museum of Surrey’s newest feature exhibition, Soil Superheroes, an exciting interactive experience from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum that uncovers the hidden world beneath our feet.
Opening Tuesday, May 19, Soil Superheroes invites families, children, and curious minds of all ages to explore the underground ecosystem where tiny organisms work every day to grow our food, clean our water, and help protect our climate. Through hands-on activities and engaging displays, visitors will discover why healthy soil plays a vital role in food security, climate resilience, and the health of our communities. The exhibition runs until Sunday, September 13.
Visitors can also experience two additional exhibitions during their visit to the Museum:
In the Indigenous Hall, Sharing Stories showcases powerful artwork from the Cedar, Sage and Sweetgrass Indigenous Art Collective. This inspiring exhibition honours Indigenous artists and their creative voices and is on display until June 21.
Upstairs in the Community Treasures gallery, Journeys in Care: Stories from Nurses of Indian Heritage highlights the remarkable journeys, experiences, and contributions of nurses of Indian heritage in Canada. The exhibition runs until July 19.
“At Museum of Surrey we strive to provide residents and visitors with exhibitions that are relevant to their lives and teach us about the world around us,” said Lynn Saffery, Museum Manager. “These latest exhibitions provide a wide variety of stories that will appeal to the community and help build pride in Surrey.”
Museum of Surrey is a dynamic and accessible community hub and cultural space that reflects the City of Surrey’s innovation and creativity.
