RCMP asks public help after assault in Codiac, NB

The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking for the public's help following an assault with a weapon in Moncton, New Brunswick (NB).

On May 2,  at approximately 5:58 a.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on John Street in Moncton, N.B.

Two individuals approached a man and pointed weapons at him. The victim did not sustain any injuries.  The two individuals fled the scene before police arrived. No one was injured during the incident.

Later that day, police arrested a 19-year-old man from Moncton without incident. He was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 7.

Police are now looking for the second individual involved in this incident. The individual is described as a man, possibly Caucasian, average height and build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing all black clothing.    

Police are asking anyone who was in or resides in the area, who may have a security camera or dash cam footage from the time of the incident, or who has information that may help further the investigation, to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400.
