Conservatives launch AI generative campaign against Liberals on recession
The Conservative Party of Canada is launching a new digital ad that uses generative AI to highlight the economic hardship Canadians are facing under Mark Carney’s Liberal government and to criticize Liberal attempts to dismiss the recession as merely “technical.”
The ad contrasts Liberal rhetoric about economic strength with what Conservatives describe as the reality facing Canadians: two consecutive quarters of economic contraction, five straight quarters of declining business investment, rising unemployment, and record food bank usage.
“There is nothing “technical” about a recession that has left thousands more Canadians out of work this year and forcing more families to rely on food banks to make ends meet. Canadians aren’t “technically” hungry, they aren’t “technically” unemployed, and they aren’t “technically” homeless,” said Conservative Party Deputy Leader, Melissa Lantsman.
The ad also highlights Prime Minister Carney’s refusal to acknowledge that Canada is in a recession, despite his admission that government decisions have contributed to economic weakness.
Canada needs a new economic direction focused on ending inflationary deficits, repealing anti-development laws, reducing red tape, and restoring affordability and economic growth.
