Officers respond to shots fired call with injuries
On July 21, at approximately 7:00pm, Maple Ridge RCMP responded to a report of shots fired outside a residence in the 21600 block of Lougheed Hwy.
Officers immediately attended the scene and located a 32-year-old male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital in serious condition but is expected to survive.
Officers cleared the area and surrounding properties and spoke with multiple people on scene. Officers are still determining the exact circumstances but believe this is an isolated incident involving parties known to each other.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. This incident is not believed to be related to any gang or extortion activity.
