Richmond RCMP showcases specialized fleet
Richmond's mix of urban centres, agricultural land, park space, and waterways requires officers to operate in a variety of environments. To give residents a behind-the-scenes look at the tools used to keep the community safe, Richmond RCMP has released a new video showcasing its specialized fleet.
“Richmond's unique geography requires a diverse policing response,” says Staff Sergeant Paula Maan of the Richmond RCMP. “Whether on our roads, waterways, trails, or from the air, these resources help our officers effectively serve and protect the community.”
The video highlights a range of specialized policing resources, including marked police vehicles, motorcycles, bike patrols, all-terrain vehicles, a marine vessel, and RCMP Air Services. Together, they help officers respond to emergencies, patrol public spaces, conduct searches, support major events, and maintain a visible presence throughout the city.
As an island municipality with extensive shoreline and critical transportation infrastructure, Richmond presents unique policing challenges. This fleet helps ensure officers are equipped to serve the community wherever they are needed.
