Appeal for Additional Victims After Landlord Charged with Break and Enter
Surrey Police Service (SPS) is appealing for past tenants of a Surrey landlord to contact police if they have any information of past interactions with a Surrey landlord following the landlord being charged with break and enter.
In January, SPS’s Special Investigation Section (SIS) began an investigation into allegations that a Surrey landlord had entered their tenant’s suite without permission and had inappropriately touched the tenant’s clothing.
On October 1, the BC Prosecution Service approved a Criminal Code charge of one count of break and enter against 48-year-old Balwinder Singh Bhandher and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Balwinder Bhandher was arrested on his warrant on October 14, by SPS officers. He was released from custody on several conditions. This investigation remains active and additional Criminal Code charges are possible.
SPS SIS investigators are urging anyone who may have been a tenant of Balwinder Bhandher, either in a basement suite located in a residence in the 13800 block 66 Avenue, Surrey, or in a previous residence where Bhandher was the landlord, and has information that may assist with SPS’s investigation, to please contact Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency number at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-5005 (SP).
