New Delhi: The security forces have launched a special campaign against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar (IPS) said that a total of 93 successful encounters have taken place during the year 2022 in the Kashmir zone alone.
A total of 172 terrorists have been killed in these terrorist encounters. These included 42 foreign terrorists. The ADGP of Kashmir wrote on Twitter that 108 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba and TRF were killed among the terrorists killed.
After that, 35 terrorists of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, 22 of SM, 4 of Ab-Badr and 3 of AGuH organization were killed. He further said that this year there has been a decline of 37 percent in new recruitments of terrorist organizations compared to last year.
In Kashmir, terrorist organizations have been targeting civilians to spread panic in the Valley for some time. At the same time, the security forces have given a befitting reply to their campaign.
The ADGP of Kashmir Zone said that due to the action of security forces this year, there has been a 37 percent decline in new recruitments in terrorist organizations compared to last year.
74 terrorists have joined Lashkar this year, out of which 65 have been killed. Of these, 17 terrorists were arrested, while 18 terrorists are still active.
According to the police officer, there has been a drastic decline in the life span of terrorists recruited in terrorist organizations in Kashmir. Of the total 65 new recruit militants killed in Kashmir this year, 58 (89 per cent) were killed within the first month of joining.
Huge cache of arms seized
A total of 360 weapons were recovered during different terror encounters and busting of modules in the Kashmir zone this year. These include 121 AK series rifles, 8 M4 carbines and 231 pistols.
Apart from this, a large amount of IEDs, sticky bombs and grenades were also seized during the encounter with the terrorists. Due to this, many terrorist incidents were averted.
29 civilians killed in Kashmir
This year, civilians have also lost their lives in different terrorist incidents in Kashmir. According to information given by the ADGP, 29 civilians have been targeted by terrorists during this year. Of these, 21 are locals and 8 citizens of other states.
Among the locals killed in the terror attack are 3 Kashmiri Pandits and 15 Muslims and 6 Hindus. The security forces have killed all the terrorists involved in these terrorist incidents except Basit Dar and Adil Wani. The police claimed that the remaining two terrorists will also be killed soon.
