Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has reportedly disconnected the electricity connection of Bhagat Singh Park in Khatkar Kalan, Nawanshahr in Punjab. The park had an outstanding bill of Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand. When the bill was not paid, PSPCL disconnected the electricity connection. Not only this, the employees here have not been paid salaries, Congress claimed.

After the formation of the government, chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had organized the swearing-in ceremony on the land of Khatkar Kalan. Millions of people had arrived hoping for change.

The leaders, who had talked about people walking on the path of Bhagat Singh with yellow turbans, have themselves forgotten today that the park in front of Bhagat Singh’s memorial, where the Chief Minister used to talk about installing a statue, today there is no light, Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said while lashing out at chief minister Bhagwant Mann.

Sarpanch told Congress

The village sarpanch during a dharna being staged by the Punjab Congress at Khatkar Kalan said that AAP workers are using name of great revolutionary Bhagat Singh for political mileage only.

Warring called the AAP leaders fake Inquilabi leaders and said that

CM used to talk about installing a statue in the park built in Khatkar Kalan. What is the purpose of the statue when the government is even unable to pay other expenses, including pending electricity bills. Due to this, the electricity connection of the park was disconnected.

Congress will pay the bill

Warring called the AAP leaders fake revolutionaries. He said that this bill of 1. 80 lakh will be cleared by the Punjab Congress. Warring said that the AAP party has won the chair by playing with the sentiments of the people of Punjab.

Refuting the allegations regarding the disconnection of the ancestral house of Shaheed Bhagat Singh situated at Khatkar Kalan, district administration said that there is no bill pending.

“In fact, Powercom has an advance bill payment worth Rs 6760 with them,” said Deputy Commissioner SBS Nagar Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa.
