Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party MLA Dalbir Singh Tong’s car met with an accident near SAB Nagar district on Monday. The incident took place when Tong was on his way to Chandigarh from Jalandhar.
MLA’s Fortuner car collided with a Swift car coming from the front near. One person died on the spot in the incident. The MLA is also injured in the accident, who has been taken to the hospital.
The accident took place near Langdoa bypass in Nawanshahr. Both cars fell into the fields after a head-on collision. The deceased was identified as Darshan Singh Mazari, who was sitting in a Swift car, while Balvir Singh Dhamai, who was driving the car, was injured.
MLA Toong, who was sitting in the Fortuner car number PB02EJ0039, was also injured. He has been referred to a private hospital, but his condition is stable.
MLA Tong was accompanied by staff and security personnel in his car and they have also suffered minor injuries. After getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and both the vehicles have been taken out of the fields. The police have launched an investigation. Police said that investigation is underway.
