Joe Biden said in a statement that America can and will lead the world in manufacturing. I am proud to announce today the purchase of more than 200 American-made aircraft through a historic agreement between Air India and Boeing.

The purchase will support more than a million jobs in 44 states and many will not require a four-year college degree. Biden also said that together with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he looks forward to further deepening the relationship between India and the US.

Earlier on Tuesday, Air India announced the purchase of 250 aircraft from France’s Airbus. Of these, 40 will be large-sized aircraft, said Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
