Chandigarh: Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has convened an important meeting of representatives of Sikh organisations, sects and organisations on March 27 to discuss the prevailing terror situation in Punjab and the issues of arrests of Sikh youth.
A poster in this regard has also been released on social media by the Akal Takht secretariat. The joint special gathering will be held on March 27 at 12 noon in Amritsar, the poster said.
Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh’s personal secretary Jaspal Singh confirmed the gathering.
The agenda of this special gathering includes discussing the current situation in Punjab, the long-standing uneasy atmosphere in the minds of the Sikhs and the illegal arrests of Sikh youth.
Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh will hold discussions with representatives of Shiromani Sikh Bodies, Sikh Sects, Sikh Organisations, Intellectuals, Lawyers, Journalists etc. of Punjab about this agenda.
After consultation with all the parties, the future planning will be done under the leadership of Akal Takht. Yesterday, the Akal Takht Jathedar had asked the Punjab government to clarify its position on the current situation.
