New Delhi: Two ministers in the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi, Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain, have resigned from their respective posts after being arrested by the CBI.

According to the information received, Chief Minister Kejriwal has also accepted the resignation of both of them. Manish Sisodia was the strongest leader in the Aam Aadmi Party after CM Arvind Kejriwal. He holds 18 of the total 33 departments of the Delhi government.

Sisodia had the most important portfolios like education, public works, finance, excise, energy, water, health. He was arrested on Sunday in the liquor scam policy. At the same time, Satyendra Jain has been in Tihar Jail for 9 months. Jain is accused of money laundering.

Sisodia was looking after his portfolios as well as Satyendra Jain’s portfolios. Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on Sunday after being questioned in the Excise Policy. Later, the CBI court sent him to remand till March 4.

After the resignation of Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, there was talk of expansion of Kejriwal cabinet, but sources have made it clear that there will be no new minister in Delhi for the time being and the portfolios of arrested Manish Sisodia will be handed over to Kailash Gahlot and Rajkumar Anand.

Earlier, Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi liquor policy case, has received a setback from the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The Supreme Court has advised him to first go to the High Court for bail. After this, the AAP said that it will approach the High Court for Sisodia’s bail.

According to the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Jain was accused of having disproportionate assets.
