British Columbia: The province is launching the next phase of an online program aimed at improving B-C firefighters’ mental-health resiliency.
The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions says the B-C Occupational Awareness Training program is now available to all B-C Wildfire Service staff.
In addition, Phase 2 of the program featuring 12 new training modules will launch this summer.
More than 6-thousand-660 municipal firefighters have already enrolled, and B-C Wildfire Service officials say last year’s record season took a significant toll on the mental health of staff.
