Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested a builder close to former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from Kharar. The builder has several projects going on in Mohali and Kharar.
The accused has been identified as Praveen Kumar, MD of Ambika Group. He has been caught in the case of passing illegal maps of colonies.
Vigilance has taken this action after the complaint. Former Chief Minister Channi has also been the president of the Municipal Council, Kharar. At that time also many quotas were taken in the projects.
Praveen Kumar is said to have an old relationship with Channi. Sources said that the projects were passed on the basis of forged documents. The police are investigating the case.
