Burnaby: The RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for a $75,000 fraud.

The Mounties said in October 2022, they received a report from a victim stating that his wallet had been stolen, resulting in his credit and debit cards being used to make numerous fraudulent purchases.

“The victim’s debit card was used at a bank machine in the Metrotown area to withdraw a large sum of money. The victim’s credit cards were then used at various businesses to purchase high end electronics. The credit cards were used in the Metrotown area, South Vancouver and Richmond,” the RCMP said.

These fraudulent purchases are said to be more than $75,000.

“This type of crime can cause financial and emotional hardships,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP.

“We believe someone will recognize this man. If you recognize this suspect, please give our investigators a call,” he added.
