Jalandhar: Police in Punjab’s Jalandhar have registered a case of abetment to suicide against former BJP MLA from North KD Bhandari in connection with the suicide of Congress councillor Vicky Kalia.
The case has been registered on the basis of the suicide note. Apart from KD Bhandari, many BJP leaders including Rajkumar Sharma, Anju Sharma, Akshay Sharma are named in the FIR.
The police have taken this action on the statements of Rajesh Kalia, brother of the deceased. Meanwhile, it has also been learned that former BJP MLA KD Bhandari has gone underground after the case was registered him.
At present, the police have not arrested anyone in this case. After this, the family has now agreed to perform the last rites of Vicky Kalia.
Former Punjab minister KD Bhandari has informed DGP Gaurav Yadav about the whole matter through e-mail.
Former MLA KD Bhandari said that he has faith in the police administration. The family has admitted to performing the rites after the case was registered. Also, the absence of any arrest in this case is showing political pressure.
Councillor Susheel Kalia alias Vicky from ward number 64 has written a note before committing suicide. The suicide note has been handed over to the police by the family.
In the suicide note, Kalia has named former Bhandari, Rajkumar, his wife Anju, Akash Sharma, Jatindra Chopra, Ginni Chopra resident Shiv Nagar, Rajan Sharja, his daughter Kritika, Ashwini, Vinod all resident Bhagat Singh Colony, Rakesh Malhotra resident Industrial Area and Jai Mahendru for forcing him to take the extreme step
