New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against Senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.

It is alleged that Jagdish Tytler instigated the mob for riots. The same mob set fire to Delhi’s Pul Bangash Gurudwara, in which three Sikhs were burnt to death.

The charge sheet has been filed against Jagdish Tytler under sections 147, 148, 149, 153(A), 188 IPC and 109, 302, 295 and 436.

Last month, Jagdish Tytler’s voice sample was taken at the CBI’s CFSL lab. CBI officials had then said that the agency had found new evidence in the 39-year-old anti-Sikh riots case. After this, Tytler’s voice sample needed to be taken.

The Sikh community in the country was allegedly subjected to violent attacks after the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards in 1984.
