New Delhi: Posing as a senior official of the Prime Minister’s Office, the fraudster Gujarat thug Kiranbhai Patel managed to get Z-plus security from the Jammu and Kashmir administration, a bulletproof Mahindra Scorpio SUV, official stay at a five-star hotel, among others, and openly mock the security arrangements.
The thug, Kiranbhai Patel, had also held several meetings with officials during his two visits to Srinagar earlier this year.
Patel, who identified himself as the additional director handling strategy and operations in the Prime Minister’s Office, was arrested about 10 days ago, but his arrest was kept confidential by the police.
The matter came to light after a magistrate sent him to judicial custody on Thursday. It is not clear whether the FIR was lodged on the day of his arrest or there was some delay in registering it. The thug made his first trip to the Valley in February.
There are several videos of his visits to various places with security from the paramilitary and police. He is seen passing through the snow at Dudhpathri in Budgam along with paramilitary guards. He is also seen posing for a photo in front of clock tower Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
