Richmond: The RCMP says coordinated efforts and response from other policing agencies have led to arrest of home invasion suspects.

Richmond RCMP said on May 12 after 11:30 pm, frontline officers responded to a residence in the 10000 block of Blundell Road after reports of multiple suspects allegedly forcing their way into the home and assaulting the occupants.

Two male occupants in their twenties were transported to hospital by the BC Ambulance Service and treated for their injuries, the RCMP added.

According to the Mounties, the suspects fled in a light-coloured Honda sedan prior to the arrival of officers.

In a press release, the RCMP said a coordinated and comprehensive search by Richmond RCMP frontline, Richmond Gang Enforcement Team, LMD Urban Patrol Helicopter Air 1, and Vancouver Police Department culminated in six suspects being arrested in Vancouver and several firearms and weapons recovered.

“The suspects, all male, included four adults and two youths. They hail from different cities in the lower mainland. The Honda sedan has been seized and is currently undergoing forensic analysis,” RCMP added.

Mounties said they strongly believe that it was a targeted incident.

Richmond RCMP said their investigation is active and on-going.
