New Delhi: Several BJP leaders on Saturday shared a video of Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, who was arrested in an alleged money laundering case in May this year.
In the video released today, Jain could purportedly be seen getting a foot, back and head massage in his cell in Tihar Jail.
The video comes days after Tihar Jail Superintendent Ajit Kumar was suspended for allegedly providing VIP treatment to the jailed minister.
The action was taken on the recommendation of an inquiry committee set up by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
Jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar had accused the superintendent of jail number 7 that Satyendra Jain, who is lodged in jail, was getting VIP treatment.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said Jain was advised physiotherapy due to a spinal cord injury, but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was making fun of his illness.
Sisodia said that the doctor had advised Physiotherapy to Satyendra Jain. AAP had dismissed the allegations as absurd and baseless.
BJP leader Shahzad Jaihind tweeted the video and wrote, “VVIP treatment in jail! Can Kejriwal defend such a minister? Shouldn’t he be sacked? It shows the true face of AAP!”
In a press conference, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that corruption is at its peak in the Aam Aadmi Party. “You (Arvind Kejriwal) formed the party to fight corruption and end the VVIP culture. But here a corrupt person is getting all the facilities.”
The ED has also claimed in the court that AAP minister Jain is living lavish life in Tihar Jail. The ED had submitted CCTV footage of Satyendra Jain’s luxury in Tihar jail to the court. In this complaint, the ED had said that Satyendra Jain is being provided all facilities like head massage, foot massage and back massage in Tihar Jail.
It was also being claimed that the jail superintendent meets Satyendra Jain every day against the rules so that the minister does not have any problem behind bars.
