Lakhimpur Kheri: The farmers’ agitation came to an end today after a meeting with top officials of the district administration here on Saturday.

Taking back the agitation, Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) leader Rakesh Tikait said they will hold a meeting in Delhi on September 6 to decide the future course of action.

Around 2.30 pm today, District Magistrate Mohinder Bahadur Singh and others reached the protest site and took a memorandum from the farmers.

The officials assured that a meeting will be arranged at the government level for the farmers in the first week of September.

Following this, Tikait and other farmer leaders called off their 75-hour-long sit-in.
