Toronto: A female pedestrian was seriously injured when she was hit by a vehicle in Mississauga on Thursday evening.
Peel Regional Police said the accident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. in the Telford Way area on Derry Road.
The passerby was taken to the trauma centre by Peel Paramedics in a critically injured condition.
Meanwhile, the police said that the driver of the vehicle remained at the spot.
The western lanes of Derry Road between Telford and Dixie have been closed due to the accident.
