Ontario: A woman was taken to a hospital in a critical condition after a fire broke out in a residential building in Hamilton at night.
Emergency workers were called in to douse the blaze on the 12th floor of the building on Hugson Street before 12:30 a.m., the Hamilton Fire reported. Firefighters managed to keep the fire confined to one flat.
Hamilton Police said an adult woman was taken to a hospital without breathing. Till Monday morning, there was no information about the woman’s condition.
Another person sustained minor injuries. Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal was called to investigate the matter. The roads in the area were closed but then reopened for public.
