India: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani announced that action will be taken against all unauthorized hoardings in Mumbai, emphasizing that the hoarding that collapsed in Ghatkopar did not have permission from the civic body. Following the incident, which resulted in 14 fatalities and left 44 people injured (with 31 already discharged after treatment), Gagrani stated that measures to address illegal hoardings have been initiated. He mentioned that a case has been registered regarding the collapsed hoarding, which was installed without authorization, and there are allegations of tree cutting to enhance visibility. Additionally, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya called for holding the owner of the advertising agency responsible for the tragedy.
