New Delhi: India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2022. Team India has gifted victory to its fans on the eve of Diwali.
Batting first, Pakistan set a target of 160 runs. In response, India achieved the target on the last ball of the last over. Virat Kohli performed a stormy inning as he remained at 82 runs.
Like Pakistan, India also had a bad start. It lost first 4 wickets very quickly. But Kohli and Hardik Pandya kept the front. Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls. His innings included 6 fours and 4 sixes. While Pandya scored 40 runs in 37 balls. He hit 2 sixes and a four.
Captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul proved to be a failure in this match. Rohit scored 4 runs. KL Rahul also scored 4 runs. Suryakumar Yadav scored 15 runs in 10 balls. His innings included 2 fours.
Akshar Patel also could not do anything special. He was run out. Dinesh Karthik scored 1 run. Ravichandran Ashwin came to bat in the last over and he took 1 run off the last ball to give India victory and team India won with the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
