Toronto: Liberal MPP Mitzie Hunter has decided to enter the mayoral by-election to replace former Toronto Mayor John Tory.

Addressing the gathering at an event organised by Black Professional in Tech (BPTN) on Tuesday night, Mitzie Hunter revealed that she is ‘all in’ for the by-elections to be held in June.

“I’m preparing to run. This is a very volatile time for Toronto and a very important time for the city,” the Scarborough—Guildwood MPP said in a statement. It’s time to get Toronto back on track.

The 51-year-old MPP said improving public services in Toronto, as well as increasing safety on public transit and making the city more affordable, are among her top priorities if elected.

Along with this, she will also focus on opening public washrooms, replacing old-fashioned infrastructure, removing snow, keeping the roads clean.
