Chandigarh: Newly elevated Punjab Minister Balkar Singh’s convoy was attacked by youths near Sri Guru Ravidas Chowk in Jalandhar on Sunday late night.
Apart from this, miscreants also created ruckus outside house of minister near Wadala Chowk, Following this, local Police reached at the spot and took three youths into custody.
Speaking to media, Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh said he was returning home in his vehicle around 12.45 am. His pilot car was running ahead when his car reached near Sri Guru Ravidas Chowk, a car crossed them. The driver of the car stopped the car on the road and created the ruckus. Youth threw a brick at the pilot vehicle.
“I saw that the youth was in inebriated condition . So the matter calmed down and I left for home but they followed me and abused my staff outside the house,” he said.
After this, the minister called ADCP Aditya and the police force reached outside the minister’s house. The police arrested three youths. At 1:15 am, the youths were brought to police station-6. The investigation was going on late at night regarding the case. The police have not yet disclosed the identity of the youth.
