Surrey: A man has been charged for assaulting two pedestrians after a collision in Cloverdale here on Thursday. 

Surrey RCMP said officers responded to a report of the collision following which two pedestrians — 24-year-old man and 24-old-year woman —  were taken to hospital. The police said the victims were allegedly struck by a vehicle in an alleyway located in the 5900 block of 172 Street at 1:00 pm on Thursday. 

The police said the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Giles, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.      

The Surrey RCMP said the suspect was arrested in the area soon after the collision.

RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has been investigating the collision and is working to determine all the circumstances surrounding this incident.
