Ontario: Emergency crews were able to safely rescue a man who fell into the icy waters of Lake Ontario at Toronto’s waterfront on Tuesday morning.

Emergency staff were called into the Queener Quay Area on York Street at 4:00 a.m. after reports of a man falling into the water.

Police confirmed that the man fell into the water between the brick wall and a ship. The man screamed for help and a man standing nearby heard his pleas and threw the man a life preserver.

Emergency staff rushed to the spot and pulled out the man safely after lowering a ladder in the water. He was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
