Canada: Negotiators are encouraging Hamas to keep freeing hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners to prolong the
cease-fire with Israel, which is set to end within a day.
The head of Egypt’s state information services says there’s been progress in negotiations to extend the cease-fire and release more hostages.
He says another extension is “highly likely” to be announced today.
Another group of Israeli hostages is set to be released today — adding to the 81 who have been freed so far.
A total of 180 Palestinian prisoners have been released.
