Ontario: Nestle Canada has decided to winding down its frozen pizza and meals from Canada in the next six months. Food experts say this will deprive supermarket freezers of Nestle’s best products.

The four Nestle brands that won’t be seen in Canadian grocery stores are Delissio, Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine and Life Cuisine. Nestle said it will seek the help of its retail partners to get these products out of stores.

Nestle said it will focus on varieties that support long-term business growth such as confectionery, coffee, ice cream, premium water and pet food.

John Carmichael, President and CEO of Nestle Canada, said that with this decision, the company will be able to invest in the formats it prefers.

The company does not manufacture any of these products in Canada, so it will not affect any manufacturing facility in Canada.
