Port Alberni RCMP - Missing Swimmer at Stamp River Provincial Park
On June 5, at approximately 5:30 pm, Port Alberni RCMP received a report of a missing swimmer at Stamp River Provincial Park.
A female swimmer was reported to have been swept away by the current. Emergency services and police conducted a search for the swimmer; they have not yet been located.
The Port Alberni RCMP, Alberni Valley Rescue Squad, and Arrowsmith Search and Rescue are currently at Stamp River Provincial Park searching for the missing swimmer.
While the provincial park remains open to the public, the section of trail nearest the falls is currently closed to allow search crews to conduct their operations safely and effectively.
