Chandigarh: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has raided 20 locations of gangsters in 5 states simultaneously on Tuesday morning. NIA operations are going on in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. The agency is scanning the records of the gangster’s nexus.
The agency is investigating the connection of Lawrence and his henchmen with terrorists sitting in Pakistan and other countries.
The NIA team has detained Simranjit Bawa, a close aide of Lawrence’s associate Kala Rana, from Yamunanagar. Bawa had come out on bail from jail a few days ago. The NIA raided his house at 5 am.
In fact, after being in the custody of Punjab Police for several months, a few days ago, the NIA reached Delhi by taking gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, on remand from Bathinda Central Jail in Punjab.
Continuous action for 3 months
Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and many notorious gangsters were recently booked by the Delhi Police Special Cell under the UAPA. Apart from Lawrence and Goldy Brar, the NIA has raided a lot of places in the past due to the contact of some other gangsters with terrorists in Pakistan. In September and October, the NIA had raided several places in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.
